It goes on sale this September 4 at our official store, in CD format, and on the main digital platforms.
Disorders has 7 songs, plus a bonus track, about different mental health problems: anorexia, autism, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, borderline personality disorder, and bipolar disorder. The lyrics of these songs have been written by people from countries such as Namibia, the USA, or India, who tell their experiences in the first person.
The booklet includes illustrations made by FEAFES artists, also with mental health problems, which complement the lyrics of each song. Musically, the album is framed within progressive / ambient metal, with influences from Tool, Tesseract, Metallica or Pain of Salvation. The songs move in a very wide range of registers, which makes it possible to express the wide variety of emotions necessary to talk about mental health.
The album will be presented live in October, coinciding with World Mental Health Day, at various concerts in the main Galician cities.
The objective of this project is to contribute a grain of sand to the fight against the stigma attached to mental health problems, an issue taboo that this initiative aims to bring to light normally, I respect and empathy, as well as show the artistic capacities of the participants in its creation.
Part of the benefits of this project go to FEAFES Galicia, a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life of people with mental health problems and their families.
